About Me

I live in Los Angeles, California.  I am 64 years old and have been married for 37 years to the same husband. We have one daughter and one granddaughter. I grew up in Monterey Park where I begged my parents for and obtained my first Barbie in 1959.  I know now that it was a #1 blond ponytail Barbie with holes in the feet.  We didn't know that one day it would be very valulable and she is long gone.  She was wearing the orange and gray Knitting Pretty outfit when I got her.  I loved and admired this doll very much.  I worked for the County of Los Angeles Medical Center for 14 years and another hospital for 14 years, both as a medical secretary and a medical transcriptionist. I took off twelve years to raise my daughter.  She is a math teacher now.  I am retired now, so I've been looking for a hobby.  I painted oil paintings for a while. I got interested in Barbie again about two months ago after my daughter gave me the Barbie collector magazine.  I found a beautiful 2014 reproduction blond ponytail Barbie and having been collecting her vintage outfits on E-bay.  I love to dress her up in all of the outfits, some I used to have and some I didn't. Then I take pictures of her to show on Facebook.  They've come out pretty well and it's fun to do.  What do you think?
