About Me

I got my first Barbie when my parents returned to the US (dad was stationed in Loan France). As it turned out my Grandfather worked at Mattle as a Tool & Dye maker! I feel in love with my first Barbie - a titan red haired bubblecut, and then an American Girl, she had straight legs! There was always a big box of Barbie furniture and dishes & food that we played with our Barbies. And when my cousins and I came to Grandma's house we got to go to a closet where she pulled out a drawer inwhich we could  pick a "surprise" Barbie dress, or shoes!

A few years ago after a diffcult period in my life, I found some of what was left of my Barbie collection and at the same time my husband told me - I needed a hobbie! And so it began.

I have devoured resource books, ebay, and websites to learn as much as I can. I collect from 59-72. I have found such joy and peace in my collecting and reading and learning about Barbie & Mattel.
