About Me

I am a local professional gal who got a Blonde Ponytail #4 as a kid and fell in love with Barbie.  My second Barbie was the Platinum Bubblecut you see in some pics on this site!  She was the only surviving thing in my childhood collection, as my mom gave away the rest when I "outgrew" them!  (Little did she know I would grow back INTO them. :D ;)

Thanks Teresa. I don't know how to post more than one picture. LOL But, got this one up. I might try and do another close up of the two Barbies.

Thank you so much for your nice comments. You also have very VERY beautiful dolls (MINT). I could never bring myself to buy a MIB or nearly perfect Barbie because I love to (for lack of a better word) refurbish them back to there original vintage state (so much fun).

Thanks, Susan! That sample was gorgeous, and losing her was a shame--and what a shock to find i had been sold a stolen doll!

Good morning Teresa
I was wondering if their it info out there on all the things we fear??? like::
Could I leave shoes (vintage doll always) on some doll without for sure staining their feet?? Same with the glasses on their nose??
could I leave oop earring without fearing green?? How to do replacement pearl earring ?? Sun light ??? does it damage doll?? fading?? all the basics to keep a collection in the best condition???
That could be a good idea for blog??? LOL
Thank you sooo much

Hi TNT, I don't try to remove the original paint. I try to match it the best I can then I color wash the new color usually covering the old paint too. On occasion I have been able to put one dot of paint in a missing spot without putting any over the regular lip paint. :)

When you do a lip redo, do you remove the old paint first? If so, what do you use?

Guten Morgen, Marlene! We have a very poor education in languages here in the U.S. And yes, my pronunciation of the German language is pretty good, but my memory of the words ist nicht so gut! ;) I have been in Switzerland only once--to Lucerne, and I also went to Austria and down through the Brenner Pass to Italy. I have never seen anything else so beautiful.

it's hard to find vintage Barbies here too. They are just not easy to find, except on Ebay!
Liebe Grüesse to you too! Teresa

Hello dear Teresa, oh your german is lovely, and you know to pronounce the mutated vowel, that's excellent! :) Yes, we speak man languages and we grow up in school with german, french and english, later with italian and latein, it's huge and hopefully the communication works.. ;) The country is very small, in less than 4h's you can cross it from the most outside points. I'm from the swissgerman part and live 30 km from Zurich, so I speak Züri-Deutsch, but you know, we have many spoken dialects and some are rather difficult to understand for me. My favorite swiss city is Basel and I love the dialect of Basel-Deutsch, it has a nice pronunciation and sound. We have good chocolates and our hero is Roger Federer ;) I work parttime in an office and support my boss' activities and.. I have fun with that. I love my small Barbie collection and in a way it is fomative for my life and happiness, but of course not only.. I dream about to have one day a n°1 in the collection, and beside that, many other ones :) but I'm rather happy with my beautiful n°2 as well..my country is pretty small and it is almost impossible to find a rare vintage Barbie doll, you will not come across very often. It is great to be connected with worldwide collectors, Ich wish you a happy Day! Liebe Grüesse, marlene

I just realized that the "Identify your Barbie" section is just like a scientific taxonomic key - which is what I use every day to identify invertebrates!!! :)
